What does AI visibility mean for horse sellers?
AI visibility for horse sellers means getting your horses found in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other AI assistants when buyers ask them for a horse. A growing number of buyers no longer scroll through pages of adverts. They type a full brief into an assistant: breed, age, height in hands, discipline, level, budget and area. The assistant answers with the listings it can find and understand, so a complete, readable listing can be shown while a thin advert on a site AI cannot read stays out of sight.
PaardPlaats makes you part of those answers in two ways. We are directly integrated into ChatGPT through our own official app, PaardPlaats Horse Finder, which searches the live listings when a buyer asks for a horse or pony. Every listing page is also public, readable without JavaScript and open to the crawlers of the major AI platforms. It is included automatically, so there is nothing technical for you to set up.
AI platforms
Your horses on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other AI platforms
Every assistant finds information in its own way. This is how a PaardPlaats listing can reach buyers on each of them.
Direct integration
ChatGPT
PaardPlaats is directly integrated into ChatGPT through our own official app, PaardPlaats Horse Finder. When a buyer asks ChatGPT for a horse or pony, it can search the live PaardPlaats listings and show the matches as cards that link to the listing. ChatGPT search can also read your public listing page on the web.
Via Google Search
Google AI Overviews & AI Mode
The AI answers at the top of Google Search draw on pages in Google’s index, and AI Mode, the conversational search tab, works from the same index. PaardPlaats listing pages are indexable, fast and structured with schema.org markup, so Googlebot can read every key fact.
Grounded in Google
Google Gemini
Gemini grounds its answers in Google Search, so the same readable listing pages can be used when someone asks Gemini about horses for sale. A buyer can then be pointed to your listing on PaardPlaats.
Web search
Claude
Anthropic’s Claude searches the web and reads the pages it finds. PaardPlaats lets Claude’s search crawlers, Claude-SearchBot and Claude-User, in, so your listing can be read when a buyer asks Claude for a horse.
Bing index
Microsoft Copilot
Copilot answers from the Bing index. PaardPlaats pages are open to Bingbot, so your listings can be part of what Copilot draws on.
Cited sources
Perplexity
Perplexity searches the web live and always cites its sources. PaardPlaats is open to PerplexityBot, so your listing can be cited and linked back to.
Which sources an assistant shows is always the assistant’s own decision. What PaardPlaats does is make sure your listings can be found, read and linked to.
Directly in ChatGPT
Directly integrated into ChatGPT with our own official app
PaardPlaats Horse Finder is our own official app, or plugin, for ChatGPT, built on OpenAI’s Apps SDK. A buyer can pick it from ChatGPT’s app and plugin directory, let ChatGPT suggest it or call it by name. Ask for a horse or pony and it searches the live PaardPlaats listings, including yours, then shows the matches as cards that link straight to each listing.
For you as a seller, this means buyers with precise requirements are shown matching horses, click through to your listing and contact you directly. Your horse is part of the app automatically from the moment your listing is online. There is nothing to connect, install or pay for separately.
An AI-first horse marketplace, built to sell through AI
PaardPlaats is built AI-first to help sellers sell through AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. We also use AI inside the platform to make buying and selling easier.
AI-powered search
Buyers can describe the horse they want in their own words, instead of only ticking filters, and PaardPlaats looks for listings that fit.
AI-powered smart filters
Smart filters powered by AI help buyers narrow the listings by breed, age, height, discipline, level, price and area, so your horse reaches the buyers it actually suits.
18 languages, 25 currencies
Listings are translated automatically and prices shown in the buyer’s currency, so international buyers and their AI assistants read your listing in their own language.
Listings AI can read
Listing pages are public and server-rendered, marked up with schema.org structured data and open to the crawlers of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft and Perplexity.
Practical guide
How to get your listing and seller profile recommended by AI
AI assistants favour listings that answer the buyer’s question completely and clearly. What helps a human buyer helps an AI assistant too, so a good advert is the best preparation.
Your listing
Complete key facts
Fill in breed or studbook, year of birth, height (for example 16.2hh or 168 cm), sex, colour, discipline and level, and pedigree with sire and dam. Complete every field you can, because AI assistants match a buyer’s brief against facts.
A specific title
Say what the horse is rather than ‘Lovely horse for sale’. A title such as ‘16.2hh Irish Sport Horse gelding, 8 years old, 1.30m jumper’ gives people and AI the full picture at once.
Answer buyer questions in the description
Describe character, training, the type of rider it suits, and health, including the vet check and X-rays, in full natural sentences. Answer what a buyer would otherwise ask by phone: is it good to hack alone, and does it load, clip and shoe well?
Price and location
Buyers ask with a budget and an area in mind. A listing with a price, or a price range, and a clear location can be matched to those questions, while one without them is harder to match.
Photos and video
Use sharp, well-lit photos: side-on in a natural stance, plus ridden and loose. Add a video under saddle or at liberty. AI answers increasingly show images, and a video answers what text cannot.
Keep it current
Update results and training as they change, and remove or mark sold horses promptly, so AI only shows what is still available.
Your seller profile
The same name everywhere
Use an identical business or yard name, location and contact details on PaardPlaats, your own website, Google Business Profile and social media, so AI recognises you as one business.
Describe your speciality
Say which breeds and disciplines you work with, how long you have been doing it and what you offer, such as trial rides, transport or help arranging a vetting.
Easy to contact
Add a phone number and WhatsApp, say which languages you speak and reply quickly. A prompt answer keeps a buyer who has already narrowed down their search.
Build a reputation
AI also looks at what others say about you: reviews, competition results and mentions in the equestrian press and on social media. Collect them and share them where buyers can find them.
What to avoid
Keyword stuffing, or repeating ‘ChatGPT’ in your advert, does not help, so write for the buyer.
Contradictory details, such as a different age, height or price in the title, the text and the fields, make a listing harder to trust and to match.
Vague text such as ‘nice horse, call for info’ gives neither buyers nor AI anything to work with.
Who it is for
For private sellers, yards, dealers, breeders, pony sellers and auction houses
Private sellers
Selling one horse or pony? Your listing is available to AI platforms from the day it goes online, and you need no technical knowledge.
Yards and horse dealers
Put all your horses on one seller profile. Each listing can be found through AI, and the profile shows your yard name, location and contact details.
Breeders and studs
List foals and young horses with their pedigree as searchable facts: sire, dam, studbook and breeding for the discipline a buyer asks about.
Pony sellers
Parents ask AI for a safe pony of a certain height for their child. Complete height, temperament and experience details help your pony match.
Auction houses
Publish your auction collection on PaardPlaats and the same AI visibility applies to your auction horses.
Frequently asked questions about selling horses via ChatGPT and AI
How do AI chatbots like ChatGPT find horses and ponies for sale?
AI chatbots find horses in two ways. They can search a connected source directly, as ChatGPT can with the PaardPlaats Horse Finder app, or they search the web and read public pages, as ChatGPT search, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity do. Either way they match the buyer’s brief, such as breed, height, age, level and budget, against the facts in the listing, so complete and readable listings are the ones that can be shown.
How do I get my horses into ChatGPT?
Create an account and place a listing on PaardPlaats. We are directly integrated into ChatGPT through our own official app, PaardPlaats Horse Finder, which searches the live PaardPlaats listings when a buyer asks ChatGPT for a horse or pony. Your listing is included automatically from the moment it is online, so there is nothing to install, connect or configure.
Are my listings also visible in Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Copilot and Perplexity?
They can be. PaardPlaats listing pages are public, readable without JavaScript, marked up with schema.org data and open to the crawlers of Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini, AI Overviews and AI Mode), Microsoft (Copilot) and Perplexity. We have no integration with these assistants as we do with ChatGPT: they find your listing the way they find any good web page, and each decides for itself which sources to show.
Why is PaardPlaats the best platform to show my horses on AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini?
We think so, for practical reasons. PaardPlaats is directly integrated into ChatGPT through its own official app, and its listing pages are server-rendered, structured with schema.org data and open to the crawlers of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft and Perplexity. Listings appear in 18 languages and 25 currencies, AI-powered search and smart filters help buyers find the right horse, and you start with a free first month and no commission on the sale.
Is AI visibility included in the free listing and the trial? Do I pay extra?
Yes, it is included. AI visibility comes automatically with every listing, whether it is in its free first month, on a 14-day membership trial or on a paid plan. There is no separate AI fee and nothing technical to set up.
Do I need technical knowledge, or to do SEO or GEO myself?
No. PaardPlaats handles the technical side: structured data, readable pages, translations and the ChatGPT app. You do not need to know anything about SEO or generative engine optimisation (GEO). Your part is a complete, honest listing with good photos, which is also what buyers want.
How can I get my horse recommended by ChatGPT and other AI assistants?
Write the listing a buyer would want to read. Fill in every key fact, use a specific title, answer the usual buyer questions in the description, give a price and location, add sharp photos and a video, and keep the listing current. On your seller profile, use the same name and contact details everywhere and describe your speciality. The practical guide above covers each step.
Does this work for yards, horse dealers, breeders, pony sellers and auction houses?
Yes. A yard or dealer can put every horse on one seller profile, breeders can list young horses with their pedigree, and pony sellers can add the height and temperament details parents ask AI about. Auction houses can publish their auction collection on PaardPlaats, and the same AI visibility applies to those horses.
In which languages and countries can buyers find my listing via AI?
PaardPlaats publishes listings in 18 languages and shows prices in 25 currencies. A buyer abroad reads your listing in their own language and currency, and an AI assistant can answer that buyer in their language with your listing. That helps if you want to reach buyers in Ireland, Europe or further afield.
What happens in AI chatbots when my horse is sold?
Remove or deactivate the listing once the horse is sold. It disappears from PaardPlaats and from the ChatGPT app straight away, and from other AI tools once they refresh their index of the web. Keeping your listings current means buyers are only shown horses that are still available.
How do buyers who find my horse through AI contact me?
The AI links to your listing on PaardPlaats, and buyers contact you directly from there by phone, WhatsApp, e-mail or message. PaardPlaats takes no commission, so arranging a viewing, a trial ride and the price stays between you and the buyer.
